Brian Ties

Brian has been in the Financial Services industry since 2004 when he joined Prudential Retirement.   He later joined MidWestOne in November 2011. With a BS in Mechanical Engineering from ISU, you can be sure he takes great pride in designing financial plans for all our clients and seeing them through to make sure the plan operates as intended.  Brian obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2014, which is of great use in providing a higher level of service to our clients. Brian also holds Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 Securities Registrations through LPL Financial along with his Life/Health Insurance Licenses.

When it comes to investing, Brian holds value in what Paul Samuelson said, “Investing should be more like watching paint dry or watching grass grow.  If you want excitement, take $800 and go to Las Vegas”.  He also educates his clients that participate in employer sponsored plans to contribute early and often to their retirement accounts.  He feels it is the best way to work toward building a successful retirement plan.  His promise to you is an understanding of what you need to do today to work toward a successful tomorrow.  Your financial plan needs to be something you can trust and feel good about.

Outside of work, Brian is quite handy in working on projects around the house.  While he does like the occasional vacation trip to get away, his home is where he loves to be most.   Brian is also a big baseball fan.  He regularly watches the Cubs and even makes it to a game or two.  Brian’s wife, Kate, is a nurse at the University of Iowa and they have a 3-year-old son, CJ.  In addition, they have 2 dogs that greet every visitor warmly with their dirty paws.
