Joe has been in the financial services industry since 1989 and joined MidwestOne in 2013. He came to us with a BA in Health & Physical Education from Cornell College and a Master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Western Illinois University. Prior to 1989, Joe was an educator, teaching beginning French, coaching football, basketball, and track at various levels along with being an administrator on the high school and college level.
This teaching and coaching experience has served Joe well as he works to provide financial education to his clients. Joe has spent many years helping businesses and employees better understand employee benefits from health, life and disability insurance to qualified retirement plans. Currently Joe’s focus is helping people prepare for a happy and financially successful retirement. He does this by helping them better understand the many aspects of retirement income planning including Social Security, Medicare, long term health care, and creating an income that one cannot outlive.
Along with having his Series 6 and 63 Securities Registrations (held through LPL Financial), and his life/health, and long term care licenses, Joe also carries several professional designations, including Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP), Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC), and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC). Joe and his wife, Trish, have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. He enjoys golf, hiking, and is a lifelong member of the Iowa City Noon Optimist Club.
